We are very proactive therapists during sessions and there is a lot of dialog with our clients. Many of the energy techniques I (Paul) use are slowly becoming integrated into mainstream psychotherapy, however, some are not recognized as the typical standard of care that insurance carriers mandate. For example, I was utilizing EMDR and EFT with my clients in 1992. These two techniques did not reach APA approval until many years later.
As a result, we do not belong to in network insurance programs that require what is typical verses treatment that is innovative and effective. I like to schedule sessions about two weeks apart rather than weekly. I have found that this gives my clients just the right amount of time to integrate ideas discussed into their daily lives so we can review what was helpful and what was not. At the same time this cuts down on out of pocket expenses for you. In cases where weekly sessions are preferred, accommodations can be made.
Insurance
Paul and Marjane operate as a fee for service business and do not work with insurance carriers, Services may be covered in part by your health insurance out of network benefits or employee benefit plan. We will provide you with the necessary receipt and codes to be self-reimbursed. Mr. Louro does work with clients that have Aetna Insurance.
Payment
Cash, check, or credit card are accepted for payment at the time services are rendered.
Cancellation Policy
There are limitations to a smaller practice that may need to be addressed in order to keep it viable. One of the issues that needs to be discussed are same day cancellations. While I respect that not all problems are foreseeable, last minute cancellations do not afford me the time to fill the limited amount of slots that I have available for appointments. Several cancellations in a week present a small practice with considerable problems. Please be courteous and call if you know you are not going to be able to keep your appointment. Depending on the circumstances you may be billed for cancellations with less than 24 hours notice.
